Austin Morning Scene 180 Degrees View

This 22" x 36", acrylic painting was painted in 1988 from a spot at Auditorium Shores along Town Lake. From the position at which this painting was painted, the view spans about 180 degrees, from the Austin Power Plant to the Four Seasons Hotel. Painted in 1988 it includes the old First Street bridge which has recently been completely redesigned and reconstructed.

Austin Skyline at Sunset (1989)

This 30"x 40" acrylic painting was painted in 1989 from Auditorium Shores. Recording this time and the place, this painting takes on a historical perspective. Many of the buildings have changed. There are some details that date this painting are: the Sheraton Crest Inn sign was in place and MBank owned the golden tower. The trees and fauna near the lake have grown so tall in recent years that you can not even see the same details of this scene from the position it was painted from.

Austin Skyline at Sunset (1992)

This 36" x 48" oil painting was painted in 1992 from Auditorium Shores, downtown at the river. It is very similar to the one painted in 1988 but there are some subtle differences in the landmarks. The old First Street Bridge is still in this painting. Some of the new building construction changes this scene over time. The shimmer on the Colorado River can almost be used to date and time this painting. I have this painting framed in a beautiful 6" gold frame. Because of it's large size and frame it is quite heavy.View this painting in the frame.

Austin Skyline from Auditorium Shores (2004)

This 30" x 40" oil painting was painted in 2004 from Auditorium Shores, downtown at the river. It is very much similar to the one painted in 1988 and 1992 but I'm standing back to the first tier near the handicap ramp. There are definitely some big differences in the landmarks. The First Street bridge is brand new, the CSC Buildings and the beautiful Frost building. The Frost building is an amazing soft blue color that changes throughout the day, especially at sunset. The trees and fauna along the river and the walking trail have really grown. This is a tough spot to paint from especially in the hot sun. I was blessed with a lot of cloud cover this past year to paint this one. I have this painting framed in a beautiful gold frame.

Austin Skyline from Wall (2004)

This 24" x 30" oil painting was painted in 2004 from Auditorium Shores, downtown at the river. I am sitting on a small stone wall near some trees for shade. It's just a different view of detail and a different day. If you were to see the painting at the scene it is so much more impressive because you would see why I paint what I paint. Sometimes a person doesn't really see clearly at all, like looking at the reflections in the water. There's lot's of colors. Framed in a gold frame.

The Train Trussel (2004)

This 24" x 36" oil painting was painted in 2004 from Auditorium Shores, downtown at the river. I am sitting at the end facing west. The tall pillars of the trestle give a beautiful reflecting on the water. This past year the pair of swans had 6 babys. I put the male in the picture. He is quite friendly and would come close while I was painting. It's just a different view of detail and a different day. Framed in a gold frame.

Train and Old Power Plant (2004)

This 24" x 36" oil painting was painted in 2004 from Auditorium Shores, downtown at the river. I am sitting at the end of the trail, the monument spot, facing west. The tall pillars of the train trestle give a beautiful reflecting on the water. I wait to catch a bit more detail each time the train crosses the bridge. I like to paint old buildings. The old Austin Power Station looks peaceful along the waters edge. Framed in a gold frame.

Downtown from the Middle of the Walking Bridge (2005)

This 24" x 36" oil painting was painted in 2004 from the walking bridge at Lamar. This is a magnificent view. I get a lot of encouragement from the joggers and tourists passing by. I just love to paint sky and water: natures beauty, and this spot has lots of that. I was blessed with some gorgeous sunsets for as subject matter. Framed in a gold frame.

Downtown from Rock (2004)

This 22" x 28" oil painting was painted in 2004 from Auditorium Shores, siting on a piece of concrete that is positioned just off shore of the river. When I started painting the river was low and I could get to this piece of concrete that was sticking out of the water to avoid some trees that were in the way of my view. A week later my spot was covered with water. I waited all summer to find the right time to finish this picture, when finally the water went down long enough for me to sit back on that rock. Framed in a gold frame.
